Erik is just so stubborn. He clearly can do it, because in his first season – he set the team up to be compact and defensive with no massive gap between defense and attack. But season 2, he's introduced the new gameplan of high press. And it hasn't worked, and he refuses to try anything else, even if it may cost him his job.

While cup success is appreciated, it is no indicator of a club true level. The league position is as it is a reflection of the team consistency.
These are talented players looking lost on the field so either the manager’s instructions are not clear enough, or the players are highly undisciplined which doesn’t reflect well on the togetherness he proclaims. I’ve not come across one single analysis explaining what he’s trying to implement, the patterns, despite the scrutiny that MU is getting. I’m not an EtH hater but it is there for the world to see that he’s out of his depth.
